LIGHTLOOP | ELEKTROBIERKI
The concept of recording industrial estates occured to me while I was in Huta Katowice. From that moment I was planning to record a disctinct space with manufacturing legacy. The plan was simple: to get the essence of the place on the recorder, then sample parts I find most interesting and finally arrange them and put it all back together on the tape, the medium which contains itself the hum of the factory.
By recording Elektrociepłownia Szombierki, Bytom I wanted to redefine the aura of the place. The tape is intended to bring the listener into meditative state by simple repetitions of machine-like mantras. Through process of small changes the new energy is released. The listener becomes clear heat and power plant.
